This position will be responsible for timely follow-up for all patient accounts claims to Governmental Payers assigned to the Government Team. You will perform accurate and efficient insurance follow-up functions for unpaid accounts. Demonstrated ability to interpet Remittance Advices for accounts resolution, a thorough understanding of payer contracts and payment terms. Working knowledge of the Medicare FISS/DDE system. Demonstrates proficiency in the areas of Medicare billing regulations governing MSP, LCD''s, NCD''s, and ABN''s.
This is a full time position.
Experience: Two year''s experience as a hospital Medicare biller preferred.
Education: High School diploma preferred.
1. Performs accurate and efficient billing functions
2. Processes third party claims appropriately
3. Handles applicable correspondence timely and effectively
4. Performs third party follow up timely and effectively
5. Provides assistance/backup to patient representative and finance assistance as necessary
6. Demonstrates accurate and efficient use of the CPSI computer system as well as other software programs as appropriate
7. Attends meetings as directed by supervisor
8. Demonstrates ability to perform all billing functions
9. Demonstrates ability to process daily mail
10. Recommends alternative methods for performing billing function to improve performance
11. Advises Director of Out of the Ordinary conditions which may require action or intervention
12. Monitors accuracy of system billing and reports deficiencies/require changes to Director
13. Handles all patient related question/concerns effectively and efficiently
14. Processes all applicable credit balances accurately
