The Registered Nurse will provide the highest quality of care to all acute care patients at Huggins Hospital. This will be achieved in collaboration with the patient, attending physician and other members of the health care team.
The RN will plan, direct, render and evaluate and coordinate patient care according to the most current standards of care and nursing industry best practices and the policy and procedures of Huggins Hospital.
This is a full time, night shift position.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience: 1 year acute care nursing experience.
Licenses/Certification: Current Registered Nurse licensure in state of NH, BLS Certification, ACLS desired.
1. Performs assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, and implementation of interventions, outcome identification and evaluation of human responses of individuals in all age groups.
2. Utilizes current evidence-based nursing knowledge, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
3. Appropriate allocation of hospital resources.
4. Electronically documents the nursing process in a responsible, accountable and ethical manner.
5. The RN as patient advocate will assist the patient with questions and concerns.
6. Formulates plan of care on admission. This is the basis for plan throughout the hospital stay.
7. Complies with legal consent, transfer protocols and other legislative requirements that preserve patient rights and ensure appropriateness of care.
8. Collaborates with physicians and other department and agencies to provide efficient, cost effective, high quality patient care.
9. Collects and electronically documents comprehensive data pertinent to the patients' health and or living conditions.
10. Coordinates the care needs of multiple patients. Prioritizing patient care to ensure patient needs are met in a timely fashion. Delivering the same high quality to all patients.
11. Maintains and continuously promotes a safe environment for patients and peers.
12. Verbally communicates patient needs in a concise, reasonable fashion.
13. Assesses and provides patient and family members with the knowledge base required to achieve the plan for discharge.
14. Safely administers IV fluids, blood and blood products and other parenteral fluids.
15. Maintains safe administration of all medication by following the 5 rights of administration and RN standards of practice as dictated by licensure.
16. Demonstrates the ability to initiate and titrate a variety of IV drip medications utilized in the acute care setting, maintains knowledge base for assessing patient response to IV medications and intervening appropriately.
17. Able to rapidly problem solve and deliver calm, efficient care in a high stress situation.
18. The RN recognizes the needs of the dying patient and is able to assist in rendering compassionate end of life care. Doesn''t hesitate to advocate and intervene for the emotional, physical and spiritual care needed by the patient and or significant other.
19. Demonstrates the ability to work as a team member and contributes to the daily function of the department.
20. Demonstrates the ability to work independently while understanding practice limitations and seeking assistance from peer, Nursing Supervisors, Physicians as needed.
21. Actively supports and promotes Service Excellence via excellent customer service to patients, peers, hospital employees and outside agencies.
22. Provide age appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner.
23. Delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patients autonomy, dignity, rights, privacy (HIPPA compliant), values and beliefs.
24. Advances the practice of nursing through the use of current evidence-based best practice nursing knowledge, including research findings, to guide practice decisions. Participates in review, update and development of policies and procedures as necessary.
25. Demonstrates a focus on quality of care and process improvement by actively collaborating to implement best practices and quality initiatives that improve care and prevent patient harm.
26. Adheres to standards and applicable codes of conduct that govern behavior among peers and colleagues to create an environment promoting cooperation, respect and trust.
27. Maintains proficiency in electronic health record documentation to adequately reflect, execution of physician orders, nursing care rendered, nursing interventions, medications administered, the nursing plan of care, and the patient response to all interventions, medications, care and care planning.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
